ENVIRONMENTAL LABELING FOR PACKAGING DISCLOSURE

We would like to inform you that on September 11, 2020, Legislative Decree No. 116 of September 3, 2020, was published in the Official Gazette, implementing EU Directive 2018/851 on waste, and Directive (EU) 2018/852 on packaging and packaging waste. This Decree requires that all packaging be “appropriately labeled in accordance with the modalities established by the applicable UNI technical standards and in compliace with decisions adopted by the Commission of the European Union, in order to facilitate the collection, reuse, recovery and recycling of packaging, as well as to give correct information to consumers on the final destinations of packaging. Producers are also obliged to indicate, for the purpose of packaging identification and classification, the nature of the packaging materials used, based on Commission Decision 97/129/EC.“
On Nov. 21, 2022, Ministerial Decree No. 360 of Sept. 28, 2022, adopting the “Environmental Labeling Guidelines” was published for the proper fulfillment of packaging labeling obligations by responsible parties.
As on January 1, 2023, the packaging labeling in Italy is compulsory.
For all packaging, especially in cases where particular physical and/or technological limitations result (as in the case of neutral packaging), some alternatives to the physical affixing of the labeling on the pack have been identified: the transmission of the mandatory information can in fact be adopted through digital channels (websites, apps, QR codes).
We therefore list below the materials that make up the packaging we produce and the materials used for the packaging with which we ship our products.
